Rusted Steel Consol Table

This one took a lot to produce. I welded all sides then grounded and smoothed them down to perfection to create a seamless rectangular steel box. Then I made smaller boxes underneath, but only inside, to hold the wooden legs. The box was then put in the patina phase. For the legs, I chose Cypress wood; I carved scalloped divots and smoothed them out so that you could see the layers of wood grain. The tabletop was given a few coats of polyurethane. The legs received an Alabama clay stain and then waxed for protection.
